#677 - Rank-up: Rodiz as Sith Knight

 

  During times with low activity, it's always a pleasure to see members holding the head up high and keeping the spirit of Council alive. While this may be expected from older members of the clan, it's an honour to see some of the newer members take the same approach. Rodiz has remained active and faithful to the clan during ever since he joined even in hard times activity wise. It's therefore my pleasure to announce, that the Council has decided to show its appreciation hereof by ranking up Rodiz. Rodiz shall therefore henceforth be known as a Sith Knight, which means that he has now officially passed his training period.
  Council congratulates Rodiz with the rank up and appreciates his engagement and activity.
  
  Rodiz's rank up is just one of more planned rank ups in the near future as the Council has agreed to honour the loyal and engaging members of the clan even in hard times. Stay tuned for further updates.

 #676 - The RPG returns

 

  **UPDATE**:The RPG will start one week later, on Sunday, January 15th 2012!
  
  Once again, the Council Role Playing Game event is going to be launched!
  This time, the storyline will not directly build up on the older ones, so basically everyone will be invovled. Heimdallr, Redeemer and Renegade have been working on the story and possible events during the past weeks. We are planning to have at least one event each event day.
  Another huge change is that the event will only take place on Bespin. This also means that everyone may only have one character at a time.
  There will be Jedi/Sith characters, but at the beginning only one of each faction. The persons playing those characters will be chosen randomly, also regarding their midi-chlorian count. The Jeditemple on Bespin will be used as government building instead, as one Jedi will not need a whole temple for him-/herself.
  You will find out more about the story and changes when the event starts. It is also useful to check the updated guide on the forums in the RPG section*.
  
  Feanor and Captain are in charge of advertising the event to other clans and people. If you have any suggestions of people to invite (or people who are better left aside), contact them.
  The server will be hosted by Drak again.
  
  It was decided to hold the RPG on Sundays again. It will launch on January 15th, 2012 at 2pm GMT and will then take place each following Sunday, starting at the same time.
  
  The RPG has always been fun, but the activity vanished after a too short while. With all those changes and a new storyline, it will hopefully keep you all excited for a longer time!

 #674 - Main Server: Moved!

 

  There are good news concerning our main FFA server: It is being moved over to Europe!
  Drak has lately acquired a Linux server and offered to host the Council server on it. This will finally release Ranger from the costs for the old server hosted by EscapedTurkey.
  The new IP is:

  Alternatively, you can also use the following hostname to connect:
  
  council.no-ip.org:29070
  
  Thanks again to Ranger for keeping our server up for a couple of years without asking for anything! This is indeed not self-evident.
  Also, thanks to Drak for hosting the server at his home now!
  
  Note: The old server might still appear to be online as Ranger needs to suspend it now. Make sure you connect to the new one! The server tracker will be updated as soon as possible!

 #673 - Keeping up the tradition

 

  After a long time of inactivity at Jedi Academy, some members of Council gathered again to participate at the (JAWA) Open Tournament which took place on their main server yesterday.
  Due to a whole team of a clan not showing up, we could send in two additional players.
  Our line-up, containing three previous champions of that tournament, was the following:
  
  Redeemer
  Captain
  Feanor
  SF
  Socke
  Drak
  
  As usual, the tournament itself was very enjoyable. There were intense and close duels, the overall atmosphere was relaxed and nice. Four Council members made it to the quarter finals, were they, unfortunately, had to fight against each other, so only two, SF and Socke, made it to the semi-finals. SF lost against (JAWA)'s leader SiLink in a close match, who then had to face Socke in the finals!
  The duel started well for Socke, and suddenly SiLink accidentally launched a DFA, leaving him open for attacks, reducing his hit points to just 20. Socke was able to take those away as well, becoming the second champion (next to Drak who was able to win the tournament twice!
  (I won't congratulate myself here, sounds weird enough already.)
  It seems to have become some sort of 'Tradition' (a (JAWA) member said that, can't remember who exactly) that Council wins the duel tournament - it was the 4th victory in a row!
  Council was also able to win two of the five official mini Free for All events afterwards. Redeemer won the Single Heaven, while Socke was the winner of the Dual Heaven. Due to public request, there was an unofficial Melee event, which was won by Captain!

 #672 - Ninth JAWA Tournament - Council's results

 

  About a week ago, the ninth JAWA Open Tournament took place. As usual, our ally JAWA invited a few clans, including Council, to a huge duel tournament on their server.
  The participants on our side were:
  
  Redeemer
  Ose
  Drak
  Socke
  Heimdallr
  
  Despite the fact that most of us haven't played actively for a good while, we actually did well at the tournament. Redeemer even won the duel tournament!
  Congratulations to him. He is the fourth Council member to win this awesome event.
  
  After the main duel tournament, there were a few small Free For All events, where everyone had to use the same sort of saber or melee only. However, you could use any saber you want in the last FFA event and Socke managed to win that.
